Rhythmic, joyous, and fun to sing, this inventive a cappella arrangement of a 19th-century Shaker tune opens slowly and freely before it quickly segues into animated singing. Occasional bursts of call-and-response energy ("Shout!") spring from the homophonic texture in the spirit of the sacred harp singing tradition. It provides a great taste of this historical style for both school and church choirs.
